Tourism is defined as the "activities of persons travelling to and staying in places outside their usual environment for no more than one complete year for leisure, business and other purposes. This multi-faceted field touches many lives and many different economic activities." The main objective of SCB TOURISM is to set up activities, a network of support and financial conditions for the presentation, endorsement and funding of Investment projects in tourism and leisure industries under the SCB HOLDING AG scheme. As the umbrella SCB TOURISM has been launched within the SCB Programme, and as the SCB objective is to improve competitiveness of the European industry through technology development, the SCB TOURISM project is an ideal framework for the INVESTMENT development in the tourism sector. For this, the umbrella promotes co-operative execution of the projects with a clear application to the market, and where at least two companies or research centres from different countries - members would collaborate. Thus, it deals with a collaboration project between participants that would be able to foresee an open technology interchange and an adequate technical, organisational and financial qualification. Participants determine their objectives, participation type, goals and budget in a flexible way and according to each entity’s needs and features (bottom-up philosophy). Also SCB TOURISM is a programme fully oriented to the INVESTMENTS, that represent a majority of tourism industry. The SCB TOURISM Umbrella represents the unique international action that gives a concrete and global response to the need, supporting new technologies in the sector of one of the most economic impacts at the world level. This initiative pretends to generate a modern and dynamic format of joint work between the tourist, culture and leisure companies and technology enterprises through the European co-operation. The international collaboration allows find valid solutions for all the players, taking into account different features of the international market.
